The joint venture “Kazakhstan TZ – Ansaldo STS Italy Limited Liability Partnership”
has awarded Ansaldo STS (STS.MI) a contract worth around EUR 45.6 million for the
design, supply, installation and commissioning of the signalling systems and
telecommunications for the Zhetygen – Korgas Line (300 km in the South – East of
the country).
The agreement, which was pre-announced in June, is particularly significant because
it enables Ansaldo STS to position itself well for the massive investment programme
planned over the next ten years to upgrade the country’s railway network.
