France’s national rail company SNCF has joined the UK’s ‘rail knowledge-sharing’ platform SPARK.
RSSB, which runs the research portal, has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with SNCF to share its innovation and research insights with other members.
The objective is to help the international rail community improve service performance and cut costs.
Japan’s RTRI, the International Union of Railways (UIC) and the World Congress of Rail Research (WCRR) already use SPARK, which has more than 22,000 publications.
Christophe Chéron, who handles coordination and partnerships at Shift2Rail for SNCF, said: “Joining SPARK helps users understand who is doing what, where. This type of partnership promotes research by sharing information and stepping up the pace of innovation.”
