Rail Baltica has released a new technical design tender for a 60km stretch of railway in Latvia.
The section runs from Vangaži to Ķivuļurga river and through Salaspils to Misa river.
It will involve the construction of 10 bridges – including a 1.6km-long structure over the river Daugava – 14 road and 15 railway viaducts, four wildlife corridors, 45 culverts and 12 main gas pipeline crossings.

The tender for design and design supervision services for the construction of railway track substructure, superstructure and related civil structures has a proposal deadline of June 18.
Rail Baltica is a joint venture of three states: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, to construct a new standard gauge passenger and freight high-speed double track, electrified railway, which will better integrate the three countries into the European railway network.
The full railway will be around 870km-long, of which 265km will be in Latvia.
