Technical recruiter Carrington West has appointed director Nick Rowe to be the head of its rail team and brought in three new consultants in the last three months as the company expands its involvement in the rail industry.

Nick, an experienced recruitment leader, is now fully dedicating his time to the rail sector. He and lead consultant Oliver Gooch have built a team of consultants that supply a wide breadth of skill sets in rail design, project delivery/ construction, M&E/ telecoms, E&P/ signalling & rolling stock.

“The easing of lockdown coupled with major projects such as HS2, the government’s eagerness to excel projects for the economy and considering where we are in the CP6 framework, mean we are expecting a spike in hiring in the second half of the year across all job functions,” he said.

“We committed to meeting the talent demands of our clients when we entered the sector. We are building and developing a team and a market presence that will enable us to fulfil our promise to the clients we work with. The quick and efficient delivery of contract and permanent staff will be a vital component of the rail supply chain over the next six to twelve months.”

“Backed up by our specialist in-house compliance and sentinel team having very recently passed and renewed our RISQs accreditation, we have already a tried and tested service our current clients are happy with. We are in a position to scale up our service offer quickly in line with the industry and to meet the differing requirements we are seeing from clients, whether that be for niche skillsets, trackside packages of work or high volume labour only we are able to offer a solution very quickly that is bespoke to any of our clients in order to support them.”
