CAF records healthy 2014 order book

CAF has reported an increase in its order backlog in 2014 from €4.8 billion to €5.25 billion.

The Spanish manufacturer recorded a turnover of  €1.45 billion in the year ending December 31, 2014. The company’s pre-tax profit fell slightly from €144.3 million to €80.5 million.

CAF’s EBITDA Margin also fell, from €222.9 million in 2013 to €146.4 million in 2014.

Almost 80 per cent of CAF’s order book related to international projects.

Current projects CAF is delivering on include new suburban trains for São Paulo and Belo Horizonte, in Brazil, Amtrak in the USA, and other in Holland and Saudi Arabia.

The manufacturer is also supplying trams and metro vehicles to cities around the world, including Helsinki (pictured).
