Senior E&P Design Engineer


    Senior Electrical Design EngineerDue to increased workload we are seeking to recruit a Senior Electrical Design Engineer.The successful candidate will take responsibility for the overseeing the design and assessment of electrical power installations on a project, working as part of a dedicated E&P design engineering team. This role will offer the opportunity for the right candidate to innovate and use the latest technology to develop themselves and the projects they work on.We are continuously working hard to collaborate with clients and sub-contracts to ensure we are successful in the objective of improving the world we live in.What will the role involve?Plan surveys and lead site survey teamsDemonstrate a sound understanding of the design process, network rail’s technical approvals process and engineering managementAbility to undertake design work for electrical and lighting design elements of projects and check the work of othersUndertake CDM/CSM/risk analysesCheck designs to ensure all contractual requirements have been satisfied to a level that complies with NR, RSSB and British standardsKeep up to date with current NR, RSSB and British standardsManage the electrical and lighting design for small projectsCommunicate effectively with the client and other design/construction disciplines and sub-contractorsProvide resource estimates for electrical and lighting engineering input to tendersDevelop and mentor graduate and engineers towards UK Spec IEng/CEngAct as a CRE and deputise for the CEM if appropriate * Have a working knowledge of BIM and be able to assist others in the use of BIMAssist with the close out DRN’s for schemes they are responsible forUnderstand the interfaces between all railway disciplines and how these are managed.Be able to recognise changes to the scope, that will affect cost and programme; be aware of process for reporting the change to the project managerAct as delivery manager for small schemes ensuring hours spent are in line with the estimated hours and advise project team of any change in advance.Ability to use the design software in the discipline and mentor others.What are we looking for?Degree qualification in a relevant technical discipline (e.g. BEng/MEng or equivalent) to satisfy the current entry requirements for CEng or Ieng.Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET)Incorporated or Chartered Engineer (IEng/CEng) or actively working towardsCompetent with using electrical design software (e.g. Amtech, etap, etc.)Experience in rail sector
