Northern Rail and the British Transport Police (BTP) are inviting local residents to come and talk to them about tackling anti-social behaviour in Hattersley, Manchester.

During the past few weeks BTP has been made aware of issues at Hattersley station where a small number of young people have been behaving anti-socially.

The sessions will take place on Monday 24 January at Hattersley station between 9am and midday and at Hattersley Library between 1pm and 4pm.

PC Andy Collier, British Transport Police Neighbourhood Police Officer said: “This event will provide an ideal opportunity for rail passengers and residents to meet and chat to officers from the local BTP team.

“In conjunction with Northern Rail we are working together to address any concerns and to ensure rail passengers feel safe and secure when using the railway network.”

Adrian Barkley, Station Manager, Northern Rail said: “Anti-social behaviour has been raised as a concern, so high on our agenda is reassuring customers and the local community by working with the BTP to tackle the issues.

“We want to address anti-social behaviour at Hattersley station and by inviting local people to share their thoughts and information, help to make the area a safer place.”
