Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRT) has awarded IJM Construction the contract to build stations for the new Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) line in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

A total of seven companies submitted proposals for the contract, which will see elevated stations built at Sri Delima, Kampung Batu and Kentonmen and a ‘half-sunken’ station at Jalan Ipoh.

The contract is worth RM 342.19 million (around €71 million).

IJM has already been contracted to construct an elevated guideway from Jinjang to the Jalan Ipoh north escape shaft, the stretch that the stations will be situated on.

The SSP line will be the 12th transit line in the Klang Valley Integrated Transit System. It will feature an automatic train control system.

MRT CEO Dato Sri Shahril Mokhtar said: “IJM Construction has a lot of experience of working on the MRT project and this will be invaluable as they proceed with working on this newest contract. I believe they will maintain their very good track record with our project and will give their best to perform well for the SSP Line Project.”
