Network Rail have released footage of the ongoing works at Kings’ Cross showing the facelift in progress. The refurbishment works, being carried out by Vinci are expected to be fully complete in 2013.

The station is undergoing refurbishment works and will be extended through a new western concourse which is almost 3 times the size of the current area. A new platform will increase passenger capacity at the station and in turn, reduce congestion and service disruption during rush hours. New shops and cafes are also included in the redevelopment.

Network Rail have also stated that the station will receive better connections, with links to the Underground and Thameslink available with step-free access for passengers.
